WASHINGTON, June 13, 2018 – Venda Ravioli, Inc., a Providence, R.I. establishment, is recalling approximately 738 pounds of frozen meat ravioli products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection while the establishment was under suspension, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The scope of this recall expansion now includes an additional 66 pounds of frozen meat and poultry pasta products, which were produced and packed from Feb. 22, 2018 through June 7, 2018. [View Labels (PDF only)]  
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, Chicken Prosciutto Ravioli,” and a lot code of 05318-15918.
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, Chicken Prosciutto Walnuts Ravioli,” and a lot code of 05318-15918.
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, Chicken Tortelloni,” and a lot code of 05318-15918.
The problem was discovered on June 12, 2018, while FSIS was performing recall effectiveness checks. The items were shipped to retail locations in Rhode Island.
On June 8, 2018, Venda Ravioli, Inc. recalled approximately 672 pounds of frozen meat ravioli items that were produced and packaged on various dates from Feb. 22, 2018 through June 7, 2018. The following products are subject to recall: 
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, MEAT RAVIOLI,” and lot codes of 05318, 05418, 05518, 05618, 05718, 05818, and 05918. 
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, Italian Sausage Ravioli.”
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, Prosciutto & Provolone Ravioli,” and lot codes of 05318, 05418, 05518, 05618, 05718, 05818, and 05918.
  • 16 oz. sealed trays of “VENDA RAVIOLI, PASTA FRESCA, COSTANTINO’S, OSSO BUCO RAVIOLI.”
The Meat Ravioli and Prosciutto & Provolone and Chicken Prosciutto Ravioli products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST.9501” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The Italian Sausage Ravioli, Osso Bucco Ravioli, Chicken Tortelloni and Chicken Prosciutto Walnuts Ravioli products do not have the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging. These items were shipped to retail locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.                     
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.  
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
