Gardner Pie Company of Akron, Ohio is recalling Cheesecakes and Key Lime Pies sold in our Retail Outlet store between 4/11/2016 and 6/14/2016, because they may contain undeclared peanut residue. While those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume products containing peanut allergens, the FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affected products is considered to be low and not expected to cause adverse reactions in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.
Gardner Pie Company initiated the recall after its supplier, Kellogg Company, recalled certain lots of Graham Crumbs made with flour that has the potential to contain low levels of peanut residue. The company has received no reports of adverse reactions after consuming our Cheesecake and Key Lime Pies to date and is taking this action out of an abundance of caution.
Product was distributed in Akron, Ohio from direct sale to consumers at Gardner Pie Company Retail Outlet store at 191 Logan Pkwy Akron, OH 44319. The products were produced with gram cracker crumbs which utilized flour recalled by Grain Craft.
The Company is recalling Cheesecakes and Key Lime Pies that were sold between 4/11/2016 and 6/14/2016. The items were sold in white pastry boxes that do not receive any code dating at the point of sale. The Cheesecakes and Key Lime Pies are packaged in aluminum pie pans with clear covers. No other Gardner Pie Company products are affected by this voluntary recall.

The FDA advises consumers with severe peanut allergies to avoid the recalled products listed on this page because of potential peanut residue in the Graham Crumbs used to make the products. The FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affected products is low and not expected to cause adverse reactions in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.
Consumers who have purchased Gardner Pie Company Cheesecakes or Key Lime Pies between 4/11/2016 and 6/14/2016 are urged to return it to the Retail Outlet for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may contact the company at 1-844-201-1038 from 8:30am-6:30pm EST.
