Best Cash & Carry, 56-30 56 Street, Maspeth, NY 11378 is recalling ROSE BRAND DRY APRICOT (TURKEY), because it contains undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled ROSE BRAND DRY APRICOT (TURKEY) comes in an un-coded, 7 oz. plastic bag and 5lb clear plastic bag and were sold in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in product, which was not declared on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites. Analysis of the ROSE BRAND DRY APRICOT (TURKEY) revealed it contained 250.0 milligrams per serving.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product. Consumers who have purchased ROSE BRAND DRY APRICOT (TURKEY) are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
